STORM CHASING

Rob Hedrick has been storm chasing for more than 15 years. He has had numerous tornado intercepts, and is a key member of the First Alert Storm Team in Oklahoma City. Rob's storm chasing career began at a very early age when a tornado threatened his hometown. Rob knew he had a passion for storm chasing in Oklahoma. He would catch rides with friends so he could be closer to the storm. His self taught forecasting skills are the reason for his success as a storm chaser.

CHASING WITH THE WEATHER CHANNEL
THE WEATHER CHANNEL

In May of 2006, the Weather Channel came to get a lesson on how a TV station chases tornadoes. They followed me for a day of storm chasing, and of course their presence insured that we didn't see anything.
CHASING WITH TV ASAHI JAPAN
TV ASAHI
 [temporarily unavailable]

TV Asahi, the CNN of Japan came to chase with us, and wanted to see the effects of global warming on tornado trends. They followed me for about two weeks, I think I scared the hell of out them a few times. I don't know what they are saying but it makes for some good television.
