About Rob Hedrick
Rob Hedrick is currently the Production
Manager for a
sports network broadcast operation, overseeing the engineering
operations and the television inventory. In this role he has
facilitated the design and implementation of a high definition post
production facility. Creating a workflow that can be distributed to
many different platforms, including SD for network distribution, and HD
for live assets. He also delivered a file asset
solution for web distribution. The entire workflow centers around the
XDCAM / Final cut pro systems.
Rob joined the Network in October of 2008. Previously he worked for the
ABC affiliate in Oklahoma City, where he was responsible for
maintaining and streamlining the stations XDCAM workflow. Rob was an
integral part of the stations transition from linear assets to a
digital workflow system, integrating non-linear editing, and legacy
interoperability. Many of the procedures he pioneered are now
implemented across the station group. Rob also pioneered technology
that allows TV stations to stream live video while driving at highway
speeds. Prior to KOCO, Rob was a network engineer for Rockford Fosgate,
responsible for day to day network operations as well as VoIP telephone
system design.
Rob attended college in NY, where he majored in Theatre arts and Film,
Rob has worked on numerous productions from the Discovery Channel, to
Broadway.
His recent work can be seen on Fox Sports Oklahoma, Good Morning
America, ABC News, CNN, the
Discovery Channel and KOCO Television. Some of the events Rob has
covered
recently include the Tornadoes, Oklahoma Wildfires, Hurricane Katrina,
and
numerous human interest stories.
